Privacy Policy

Effective June 20, 2026. Slaydebt is a debt-truth app: you type in what you owe, and it shows you the real total and the way out. This policy explains exactly what that means for your data.

The short version

You type your debts in yourself — Slaydebt never connects to your bank and never asks for a banking login or password. We keep your account email, the debts you enter, and basic usage analytics so the app works and we can improve it. We don’t sell your data and we don’t run ads. You can export everything or delete your account at any time.

What we collect

  • Your email address — to create and secure your account and to send you the reminders you turn on.
  • The debts you enter — each debt’s name, type, balance, interest rate, and as-of date. This is the information you choose to type in; nothing is imported from a bank or financial institution.
  • Usage and diagnostics — anonymous-to-pseudonymous product analytics (which screens are used, and crash reports) so we can find problems and improve the app.
  • Push notification token — only if you enable reminders on a mobile device, so we can deliver them.

We do not collect: bank or card credentials, account numbers, your location, your contacts, photos, or any advertising identifier.

If you choose to add your name and date of birth to auto-open password-protected statements, that detail is stored only on your device and is never sent to us — only the resulting password is used, on the spot, to unlock your file. It’s optional, and you can skip it.

Statements you upload are parsed and discarded — we never store the file or its text. The one exception is by your explicit choice: if a statement fails to parse, we may offer to let you share its text to improve parsing. You see the exact text first, with card, account, and phone numbers already masked; if you share it, it’s used only to learn the statement’s layout and is deleted once reviewed (at most 90 days).

How we use it

To run the app — store your debts, calculate your true total and payoff plan, sign you in, and send reminders you’ve asked for. We use analytics only to understand how the app is used and to fix and improve it. We never use your data to target ads.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your data and we don’t share it for anyone else’s marketing. We use a small set of service providers to operate the app — hosting and database (Supabase), email delivery (Resend), and product analytics (PostHog) — and they only process your data on our instructions. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

Where it’s stored and how it’s protected

Your data is stored with our hosting provider and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access is restricted so each account can only reach its own data.

Your choices and rights

  • Export — download your debts from Settings at any time.
  • Delete — delete your account from Settings. This removes your debts and account data.
  • Reminders — turn notifications on or off whenever you like.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your debts and account data; limited records may persist briefly in backups before they age out.

Children

Slaydebt is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 16. We don’t knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll let you know in the app.
